Powerpool Game Description
Game Tags: Arcade Pool Games, Powerpool Game Series
What really makes Powerpool stand out among other pool games is the real-time action. You don’t need to wait for the balls to settle before taking another shot. Instead, can grab the cue ball with some quick mouse work and give it another shot while rolling. If you’re quick, this allows you to pull off some incredibly tricky and complex moves.
In addition to this, there is the innovative addition of bonus balls. These are balls with power up bonuses. Some of them will disappear when touched by the cue ball, others will create an extra pocket wherever they are struck by the cue ball, and one interesting one will turn the whole table into ghost balls. These balls can be struck by the cue ball but will only float harmlessly through one another.
All of this creates some fascinating challenges which you will overcome by developing some equally fascinating strategies. For instance, you might be given an exploding ball that sends all the others flying towards the edge of the table. Rather than use it right away, it may be wiser to wait until you have several balls near the pockets. Another ball might count the number of times it is struck by the cue ball and then multiply your points for pocketing it by that number once you sink it, so it’s a good idea to save it for last.
Combine this with a limited number of “lives” and you have a pool game that combines action, sports and puzzle gaming all in one. Influenced by Puzzle Bobble, Lunar Pool and various shooters, Powerpool is an addictive little game that is a fun way to pass the time (maybe a little too much time, if you’re not careful). Give it a shot (no pun intended) and see what you think.
